Daylight – Looking at sales numbers heading south, you can count on this: two months is a worry, three months is a trend and at four months, it’s history. Yesterday, the automakers reported the fourth straight monthly decline in sales of new cars and light trucks, longest stretch of declines since 2009. The question that rattled the markets is why are sales falling hard and fast during economic growth? First, the consumer sentiment since Donald Trump’s election is more or less an optimistic sensation, which has nothing to do with sales people selling cars in dealerships.
